Elements of the project1) Spend some time thinking about a career that interests YOU and investigate the major (at an undergraduate level) that you will most likely need to pursue for that career.
2) Research universities and colleges that show up on the US News and World reports for 2014 and choose four that offer the undergraduate program you want to take for the career that you chose in the first step. 3) For each university, research the current tuition for in-state students for the following years: 2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014. (You will most likely have to email or call the bursar/financial office to obtain the information for years past) 4) With the tuition information, create a line graph showing the change in tuition over five years 5) Using 2013-2014's tuition, how many years would it take you to save to pay for one year of college if you opened a savings account with $2000.00 with a 2% annual compound interest rate. 6) A summary/conclusion which includes a reflection on the cost of education over the last five years and the task of saving to pay for college. *notes* Elements 1 , 2 and 6 should be in a Word document Elements 3-5 should be in an Excel spreadsheet Send me ONE email with a Word document and an Excel document attached. |
