Project: Climate Change Education
August 26-September 20
Project DescriptionAfter watching President Obama's most recent public speech regarding global climate change, you and your partner are to brainstorm about conducting more research to include specific data regarding the issue. After you have gathered data from at least five reliable sources, which you will properly cite, you are to create a Prezi with your target audience in mind. Your job is to introduce the concept of global climate change to your audience and convince them that it is an important issue which requires action.
In addition to presenting facts and convincing them that it is important, you are going to give them at least three tips on how they can make a positive difference for the environment. Your final project is due on September 20th. Your project must: -describe global climate change -explain the causes and effects of global climate change -give three tips on earth-friendly living -be completed by you and your partner only -keep your target audience in mind -contain facts from at least five different, RELIABLE sources -be completed using Prezi -contain either a video or audio file Other important info: -Your project will be shared with your parents. -This project will be worth 15% of your final quarter 1 English grade and 15% of your final quarter 1 Science and Technology grade. Grading: 15%: Proper citations 20%: Content/Writing Mechanics 30%: Appearance 20%: Creativity/Persuasion 15%: Following instructions (all elements present) Climate Change: The Long Reach is an article about previous estimates of global climate change impact vs. new estimates. (May contain valuable info you'd like to include in your project!)
