1. Was there anything about the article that was confusing to you? If so, what? Be specific.
I wasn't really confused about anything but i did have a couple questions about Peru, if we scored higher than them are we not considered the lowest scores?
2. Were you surprised by anything written in the article? Why or why not?
No, I wasn't surprised about anything. I already have heard about Americas lazy students and how Americas average IQ is only four points lower than special needs.
3. As an American student, why do you think our scores are lagging internationally?
It's actually very simple; American students/kids have everything they need like phones, TV, laptops, etc. So they get lazy and stop reading books or they don't go outside. They stay isolated in their rooms until they want to eat; worst of all is not all but most parents don't care about the education and that lowers the children/students self esteem, this causing them to do ill in classes and tests.
4. What reaction do you have to the information in this article?
I wasn't as surprised as I should've been because this topic is brought up in class so often. I didn't expect are scores to be this bad.
5. What can be done to help American students improve their performance in class? (This should be one full paragraph)
Teachers can do hand on hand activities other than just telling students a lesson and giving them homework. Homework can be done on the internet so students can be on the internet and do homework. Students can start making study groups to help each other study. Teachers can make students work together on educational projects and present them to the class.
