I read about Amos(who's name was at-mun) his owner died so the family had to sell the slave. they sold the slave to a family that's nice and caring. Amos was 60 when he was freed by his second family and he saved lots of money. He freed to women who both died but he was so happy that they died as free women. 2) How do you feel about what you read today? I am happy that Amos has accomplished some of his dream he is now free and he freed some people. 3) Think about your favorite character. What happened to him/her today? Amos today was freed and not a save anymore and he freed two women that he married. 4) How would you feel if the same thing that happened to him/her, happened to you? I read about At-Mun -Shi, which is a village in Africa. They would gather for their mystic dance that would welcome in the time of herbage which is the time of planting corn. What they do that night is the oldest wisest man in the village pounds the drum and everyone else in the village does the same. One of those times while they were doing it. White ,men came and stole many of them for slavery and one of them was the new king who was fifteen years old. They had to travel a long time, many months to get to the slave auction. At- mun the 15 year old boy knows he can run away but he doesn't want to let his village down. At- mun was bought by a white man named Caleb Copeland. 2) How do you feel about what you read today? I feel proud of At-mun not giving up on helping out his village. I admire that he has patience and he doesn't give up. 3) Think about your favorite character. What happened to him/her today? I read about what happened to mummies after the tradition stopped and why did it stop. After Islam became the religion of Egypt mummies were't made anymore and mummies bones were grinded and used for Art and medicine, because the bone included a substance called bitumen. 2) How do you feel about what you read today? I read about The mummies treasure and tomb Robber. robbers were punished severely if caught stealing they would get their hands,nose and ears cut off. Also most treasure were hidden between the mummies wrapping because most thieves wont take apart the mummy because they don't want to get caught they would instead burn the mummy to make a fire so they can see. 2) How do you feel about what you read today? This chapter is interesting and gives lots of information. 3) Think about your favorite character. What happened to him/her today? My favorite character was a British Archaeologist named Howard Carter. He went to Egypt to find an undisturbed tomb. When he found that tomb he got bit by a poisonous snake and spider which killed him. so people assume its a cures for disturbing a tomb. 4) How would you feel if the same thing that happened to him/her, happened to you? I read about the mummies tomb and where there located most of the time. I also read about why they were made, how they are made and who made them. 2) How do you feel about what you read today? I feel confused and shocked that the ancient Egyptians kept making tombs even though they kept getting robbed. In the next couple of pages the book explained that they kept making them because they only cared about the drawings on the wall which were drawings of the dead person in the afterlife, how he is moving on. 3) Think about your favorite character. What happened to him/her today? my favorite character is Imhotep, he was a prime minister of an important king named Zoser. Imhotep was an engineer,mathematician and an architect he also learned about medicine. He expanded mastabas which is a rectangular mud brick tomb with a flat roof and slopping slides. because he expanded the mastabas it became harder for the robbers to find the mummies because the tombs had traps and it was larger. 4) How would you feel if the same thing that happened to him/her, happened to you? I read about how mummies are made. and how they remove the insides which will make the mummy decay. 2) How do you feel about what you read today? I felt interested and a little bit grossed out when the book started explaining how the brain is removed from the body. 3) Think about your favorite character. What happened to him/her today? My favorite Character is Queen Hetepheres, she was the first royal Egyptian to have her body mummified. Her tomb was robbed and her mummy was missing shortly after her burial.
