The actual physical treasure In the Alchemist is that Santiago ended up with wealth. Its all of the gold and how rich he was. Santiago found his treasure in Spain. He found his treasure there because The Alchemist told him that they had a dream of his treasure being buried in Spain under a tree that is by a church. After reading this whole book I think the real treasure Santiago was seeking was to realize what you have and appreciate it. It was to realize who you really are as a person and what you are capable of. Its also telling you to realize that money and treasure is not the only thing you need in life. There is so much more to it. Like how Santiago fell in love with Fatima he was very happy, he didn't really need the treasure. Over all its about you finding who you truly are as a person and appreciating what you have and not worrying about what you don't. Also that money and treasure isn’t everything there is more to the world than that.I feel like Santiago did find the treasure because in the book he understood the fact that he doesn't need treasure and money to be happy. He found out that there was more than that to the world, there is happiness and family and love. The book didnt tell us to not follow our dream but it was telling us to be happy with what we have, and appreciate it because although it may seem like we dont have enough and we want more we have so much more compared to other people so we should be happy and appreciate it. What i think i have learned from this book its to love and appreciate what we have because other people dont have that. I also learned never to give up on my dream and if something gets in the way I shouldn't let it stop me. I should follow my dream but at the same time appreciate what i have and not always want more.
