the introduction to the book is about how some children need special help. Like hearing aids or just extra attention. This book is about how special needs kids and normal kids are in the same environment. This book is narrated by a guy who is in 8th grade he has black hair and dark eyes. He cannot catch up with he students around him his brain is not fast enough. He didn't tell anyone this but only his friend Jake yazzi he helped him with homework and in return he helped his friend with skateboarding.. His dad married this new girl after his wife died and he doesn't like it. His dad keeps telling him to learn how to read and his dad doesn't know his son is held behind but his son doesn't want him to know. He would tell his mom if she was alive or a grandma but he won't tell his dad. His dad always bought him a book from the grocery store and told his son to read and his son would make up a story to make his son proud. He knew his dad will find out one day but he didn't know what to do about it. There are different ways to define learning disorders. learning disorders appears in different forms there are three form dyslexia, spelling and writing, dyscalculia for mathematics and dysgraphia for writing. In the united states has only 5% of learning disorders but there's about 20% unrecognized. Learning disorders run in families. Public school are required to provide for special needs people. There are tests by the federal law that is taken for special needs to know if there in special needs. people who are special in school have the right to interact with others and do art or music etc.

I think it's sad that he can't share anything with his dad or he doesn't feel comfortable with sharing with his dad. his dad seems like he would help.
