Hello Students!
The video that I created is taking too long to upload. On Monday we will review the worksheet and I will show you how to figure out the number of minutes in each of the 1D members lives, stopping with 5pm on Friday. Enjoy your weekend! Relax! :) UPDATE: So, we worked on the worksheet in class. Click here for the worksheet. For Harry: The equation for how many minutes he's lived, up until September 6th 5:00pm UK time. 5(527,040) + 14 (525,949) + 264,960 + 38,880 + 714 + 5(1440) + 900 Where 5 is the number of leap years he lived through... 527,040 is the number of minutes in a leap year 14 is the number of non-leap years he lived through... 264,960 is the number of minutes in March through August 2013 38,880 is the number of minutes between February 2 through 28th of 2013 714 is the number of minutes for the remaining time on February 1, 2013 7200 is the number of minutes between September 1st and 5th, 2013 and 900 is the number of minutes on September 6th, up to 5pm. The total number of minutes that Harry has been alive, therefore, is: 10, 304, 652 minutes Here are the answers for the rest of the guys: NOVA: Secrets of the Sun Vocabulary/Topics to consider: solar wave coronal mass ejection (CME) geomagnetic storms aurora eclipse solar system orbit revolution leap year axis atmosphere summer solstice winter solstice equinoxes tropics helioseismology fusion Definition:plas·ma ˈplazmə/ noun

One question that wasn't answered: -What impact does the sun have on satellite space craft? Angela says, "Electrostatic Discharge is the main concern, but each satellite is built with a faraday cage which protects the equipment (as long as nothing was too jostled during launch)." She also sent the following links to help you understand: Faraday Cage Electrostatic Charge |
