Today I read an article based on Solar Panels. It was called Solar Panels Drain the Sun's Energy. After reading the article I found a lot of things that I didn't know before. The Wyoming Institute of Technology or WIT has reported that Solar Panels are draining our sun's energy. Because of that the Halliburton Corporation has rethought about their ideas on entering the solar energy market. I have always thought Solar Panels are a good thing but my mind has changed towards a different direction after this particular article. I never knew Solar Panels were sucking the sun's energy in. Even though Solar Panels are a more efficient thing to use they are going to cause problems in the future if everyone turns to them. Problems haven't arisen yet but scientists are saying they will soon. It is proven by research that Solar Panels are the worst human-made climate disaster. And that is why people should start being more dependent on other things such as oil and coil. I think Solar Panels are a great thing however if it is going to cause harm to our sun then we should stop using them for a better future. I also think that scientists should do more research just to confirm it better. The one thing that I really liked that this article stated was the very last sentence, "What good is clean air when our very sun is no longer functional?" This article was a very interesting article and I plan on reading further into this topic..
Week 3 Day 3 (Wednesday)
1) What did you read about today? Be specific.. 1) I read the last unit in the book, which was about how to help teenager who runaway to live a better life. There were 4 short stories in that unit. The first one was Trying to do the right thing. It was in the perspective of Augusta's mother. Augusta had ran away and her mother was really worried. She was now in the hands of someone safe. She had a friend and since Augusta wouldn't talk to her mother her mother talked to her friend. Augusta had a tough life and had many cuts. She was living a hard life and didn't know how to live. She was kind of mentally ill. She refused to talk to her mother. Although someone found her and put her to immediate care. The second story was called I was a hired thug for tough love. Their was a women in who worked for helping teenagers, her name was Karen. She talked to parents and kids to help the, live a better life and see what their problems were. The third story was called Teens need self-reflection, not lectures. There was a man who ran a program for teenagers and he explained how he had ran away as a teenage and he hated lecture because it did no good to him. When he grew up he would give lectures to the teenagers. Later he found out lectures doesn't help and it was even boring for him. 2) How do you feel about what you read today? 2) I was sad because Augusta was having such a tough life and her mother was exceeding her best to help her. I was happy then because the woman and the man was helping teenagers live a better life by guiding them. 3) Think about your favorite character. What happened to him/her today? 3) My favorite character, Augusta, was having a tough life and she had started cutting. She would even refuse to talk to her mother. 4) How would you feel if the same thing that happened to him/her, happened to you? 4) I would be mad and unhappy with my life if I had ran away and was living a life as hard as hers. 5) What questions do you have about what you read today? 5) Nothing, because it is the end of the book. 6) What do you predict will happen next in this story? 6) Nothing, because it is the end of the book. |
