1) What did you read about today? Be specific.
1) He wanted to quit all the drugs and wanted to be fresh. In years he finally felt fresh and happy. He finally had someone to talk to. When he was young he used to be scared of stoners. He started feeling better each time he talked to Clay. His health started improving and he started looking clean. He regained the weight he had lost. Everything was perfect until he received a letter from his mom. She wasn't concerned and wrote that to her he was dead and should go to hell and never come back. Clay was sad after he read the letter and replied with I didn't know she would do that. Richard became sad because of that he felt as if Clay never listened to his stories, but Later he was okay with it. He couldn't stop thinking about his mom and he tried his best to keep clean. He was going to meet his mom again for the last time. He had to finish school and for that he needed to stay with his mom. It was all possible because of Clay. Clay hadn't just given him another chance, he had given him hope in life. Richard spent a lot of time in his work whenever his mom went crazy. Scott had forced him to clean the garage and him and his mother sat there talking to one another and this time it wasn't on how much they hated each other. He asked her several things to see if she remembered anything and unfortunately she remembered nothing at all, which caused Richard to be really angry. The mistake was that Richard started consuming bottles of beer. As his mother drank she suddenly fell over and hit her head on the cement. It started bleeding really bad and Richard was desperate to help. The cut was deep and Richard felt sorry. She didn't want a doctor, she wanted Richard to just use band-aids and that is it. His mom started admitting that she didn't want to remember the things because it gave her pain. Richard thought of mom when she was young and happy and that now she had became a complete mess, he felt pitty and shame. He also felt mad because she wasn't the only one who suffered pain it was him too. She said sorry for everything to Richard and he said he was sorry too and she went to bed. The Nichols family wanted him to come over to watch a movie. He took a shower and took off. He looked in the mirror and he looked high. He pretended that if they asked he would just say he was tired. Whenever he doesn't want a conversation he would say "It's just mom and I aren't getting along--again." He sat with the family, watched the movie, and ate pizza.
2) How do you feel about what you read today?
2) I was happy he was healthy again, I was also so surprised when his mother said she thought it was painful and that she was sorry, I was then mad because he just became healthy and clean and he started with the beer again, and I was a little emotional too when he visited his mother and the deep talk they had.
3) Think about your favorite character. What happened to him/her today?
3) My favorite character, Richard, gained happiness in his life but then he lost it when he saw his mother's note. He was excited to go to school, he drank a few drinks after he said he wasn't going to anymore, and was shocked on the talk with his mother.
4) How would you feel if the same thing that happened to him/her, happened to you?
4) If my life was finally happy but then someone ruined it I would be really mad and try to tell the person how I feel, if I about them and if I promised myself on not doing something but then do it then I would be really disappointed and find a way that I could be far away from that thing I don't want myself doing.
5) What questions do you have about what you read today?
5) I want to know if his mother feels the same for Richard, and if she doesn't then how does she feel about him now.
6) What do you predict will happen next in this story?
6) I think Clay will find out about Richard, that he drank a few bottles.
